Playdate!! Now as excited as I was for Annelise to see large, live animals, I had a feeling that I would enjoy this playdate more than her! I have worked at Therapy 2000 for 6.5 years and 3 of my friends, Yeisha, Patia and Ivy, happen to be at the same point in their lives-growing their families! Annelise was the youngest that attended the zoo playdate (10/15/11), but she loved watching and talking to the other kids! The only animals that she seemed interested in were the ducks, but its possible that they were just the only animal within her sight range! Looking away from the camels…
So glad that McKinna really enjoyed the camels!
We walked through a butterfly garden. The only butterfly we saw was ironically on the outside of the netting and too quick for pictures. There were a bunch of cute kids, though!
Annelise is always trying to pull someones hair! I dread the day that karma gets her back, but I figure we have a couple years before the poor girl gets a good head of hair!
Jackson wasn’t going to wait around for anyone! He kept everyone on their toes…can’t wait for this phase! hehe.
Annelise enjoyed a little sit on a lizard (?).
We saw a interesting albino crocodile. Annelise was not interested…
She did try looking for the tigers! But the tigers were waiting in the corner at the bottom of the bridge that all humans walked across…coincidence? I think not.
Pretty flamingos!
Jackson, Annelise, Jac and Mckinna hung out with the kangaroos for a bit! They are too cute!!
Annelise thought the kangaroos were pretty neat and just her size!
Too fun!
Annelise and I skipped the petting zoo section, but enjoyed a quick look at the koi pond and the ducks. (No pics of the ducks because Annelise was too busy trying to jump out of my arms at them…again, the only animal she really seemed interested in!)
My little cowgirl taking a ride on a horse! So much more fun than the real animals!
Can’t forget the pink and purple gorilla. I still can’t believe that’s natural, really?
And it’s not a real trip to the zoo without seeing the elephants!
Even after a close encounter with a giraffe…
Annelise was not too interested!
It was so much fun watching the other kids really enjoy seeing the animals and playing together! I know that soon Annelise will be able to enjoy these playdates as much as I do, but until then I will enjoy hanging out with good friends, sharing laughs and our lives as our kids grow up together! Ivy, don’t forget about us here in Texas…come back and visit!
(Annelise was ready for a nap…can you tell?)
